Headset greased, chain lubricated, brake pads changed and the new Ribble (new to me anyway) is ready for some serious mileage...

The choice between The Black Mountains and central London would be an easy choice for me, quite miss being able to get out that way in just an hour or two for some hills

Wow, that was hard work... 66 miles with some fast boys... one of which is an ex pro who has offered to coach me, so this was a test ride... Well, I was tested to my limits! Had to step pff twice on some hills, as my HR rocketed up so high I felt lightheaded and thought I was going to fall over! :w00t:

Still wondering if I could have ridden through it...

He took me to a physio mate of his afterwards, who has assessed my shoulder properly at last and says it is my neck!!! Which makes total sense to me! He did some manipulation and it feels better already. Got exercises and some more manipulation and it should get better withing a couple of weeks or so :-O Been suffering from the end of April with this now... Should have gone to a physio right away, rather than struggle with the GP's...

Got a training plan for this coming week too, a LOT of turbo efforts to get the body used to working at a higher HR and increase my power!!!

Yesterday was a claggy boggy outing out in over Pendle
it was tough work in the saddle against the wind with the soft ground on the tops.
So a good mix of running/ pedaling
Was more fun than you can wave a muddy bike at:w00t:

Much the same for me, 33 miles, bridleways/road/canal towpath and a spot of birdwatching at the RSPB reserve at Fairburn near Castleford.

It's my Dad's old alloy training frame with a mix of campy components. It's not a bad bike, very comfy to ride but no where near as nice as the Grand Frondo Ribble Carbon frame my Dad races on!

If you can handle the lack of service and waiting ages for stuff to turn up you can get some pretty good deals from Ribble. The carbon frames are definitely worth considering.
