Yes, it is!
Yes, it is!
Richard36, By 'my pacing' I meant my ability to measure distance by pacing it out while going through 'the nothings', not my speed which, as you'll have gathered from my nom de plume, is fairly slow (but capable of coming in under twelve hours I think). The steep sections on the loop section are the zigzags from Greenside YHA to the Sticks Pass and from Dunmail Raise to Grizedale Tarn.
(I see you're from D&G - I enjoyed The Merrick hill run for the first time this year - the muddiest fell race I've done!)
Ok, thanks for that DFTS
Hope you enjoyed the Merrick Hill run. I didn't do it but I've done the route a number of times. Did it last Friday and it was very muddy, so much so that I've bought myself some Inov8 Mudclaw's 272 as a step up from my X Talons.
Will probably do the TdH in my X Talons though I'm conscious there are some tarmac sections.
Looking interesting on Raise today (http://www.flickr.com/photos/raise_up_dated_pics/)
Does anyone need an entry for the Tour de Helvellyn?? Depending on whether you have the correct entry requirements......
I don't need mine, as I'm not able to do this anymore :-(( just getting back after illness..... PM me and we can sort :-)
Looks like modern art on the Raise camera at the moment.
Bad luck Fetlock.
A lot more snow hanging on than I'd expected. And the outlook for next week and beyond is for more snow and gales...
Doing the loop from Patterdale on Saturday...should be fun.
