Dark satanic mills, a bit like Huddersfield....only joking (I hail from Calderdale).

Seriously, it is a bit like Huddersfield. Park tarmac paths, on a slight slope, 2 lap circuit.
Terrain also similar to Heaton, Oldham, and others with no trail/mud.
I ran it 2 years ago whilst visiting relatives. I recall there was a sting in the tail in the last 100m as you twist up the hill off the circuit to the finish - assuming its still the same course.

All right for some. The Aylesbury one has been under water since before Christmas! Mind you, I escaped one week and did Burnley instead.

Beautiful park, 3 lap course (plus a bit); a Teeny Tiny Hill (x3). Friendly, nice atmosphere; but you'd expect no less in Bradford, Colin!

As long as you arrive by 8.50, you can park on Emm Lane within 30 seconds walk from the start.

Only doing 2 laps is one way of ensuring a fast time, but some would call it cheating.....

Many thanks, I will get there before too long. It sounds as though it should be a lot faster than Dewsbury and possibly similar to Huddersfield.

There's c160ft of ascent at Bradford, Colin - mostly 3x the 'Teeny Tiny Hill' + the final sting in the tail around the bandstand to the finish - my last run there 4 weeks ago .... http://connect.garmin.com/activity/415462025

For interest there's a useful update of prospective future parkruns on fetch http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=5469

I go to Pontefract, as it's my closest one

Over the past couple of weeks, we've had 260+ runners!! (event 1 had 42!!)

I'm not that fast, 21:10 is my PB

    http://www.parkrun.org.uk/pontefract/course/

On a slightly differing tangent, are there any older runners than Ken from the same Club as me??

I'm in the picture, in the cycling top - with yellow-sleeves & the goatee
It's an easy top to find, after the race, in the clothing pile

Yes, plenty . Locally the first Peco race this year had a v85 (John Johnson of St Teresas AC).

Back to parkruns I see a new one is starting up at Fountains Abbey sometime in the coming months.

Inaugural Warrington Parkrun tomorrow morning. I had a run round on Tuesday.
Although it is pretty flat there are a few twists and turns, a bit of trail and it crosses a rugby field, so it won't be a pb course.
