Its the climbs that I need to work on.

You could have waited on that last one up to the calf , i'd have found the short cut then.

Your mate Pete had a great run, he can carry the bags, food and do the cooking when we support him

Wish I'd have took that short cut after the calf, I was in a party of four at that point it was really foggy.

One guy went for the short cut, the other two went over the top, I followed the majority.

Good job I did, cos the guy got lost and came in 15 minutes after us.

I fell apart shortly after that and wobbled my way to Winder and down the hill to the finish
Think I was one of the majority that was with you at this point, were you the one handing out dates and bon bons?

They did help, thanks. I too was a bit knackered, don't think I was talking to you afterwards, couldn't talk full stop!

I was the fat boy in the grey t shirt over my club vest as I was getting cold at that point.

Ah right, I was talking to the other chap afterwards.

I was pretty unsure we were on the right path, due to the fact that we were still going upwards after passing the calf (highest point on race) thats what confused the hell out of me. It turned out it was only a short distance.

Looking at the map now it makes sense, not sure where I would have gone if Id have been on my own. Probably followed the short cut man

    Re: Sedbergh Hills

I've put two sets of photos from the race up on the Northumberland Fell Runners website. My partner took a few taken on Arant Haw and coming back from The Calf and the other set I took whilst running the race.

They are a little NFR-biased and one set is obviously just seen from one position in the race, but you should be able to pick out the top 5* (in cloud at The Calf) and the other photos should remind you of the dramatic scenery if nothing else - here's the link.

*I believe Joe Symonds won, Alison Raw won the ladies.
