    Two years!

    Time certainly does fly. Could've sworn that was last year.

    It's age Travs - wait until you get as old as the rest of us :-) You are the youngest by a long way of regular contributers. BaBa (another relative youngster) hasn't posted this year and only 8 times in the previous 6 months regarding the races he selected for the Championships.

    I'm 42

    MrB is still a v40 so can't be much older.
    Noel and DanGilbert are v45's
    Pretty sure Ba-ba is significantly younger than me.

    Calvin (doesn't post regularly any more, but posted re his race recently) might be late 20's-early 30's

    Would you like to elaborate?

    The new login issue should be fixed not just disabled.
    The FRA should post updates here and not just on FB.

    We have met, Charmian, though I would not expect you to remember me - if it helps, I am Alice T's partner.

    One point that seems to be missed is that the FRA is the Fell Running Association, not the Fell Racing Association.

    As has been said, if a service is not invested in, expect it to fail. Look at the NHS.

    See the problem - folk like Mike can't help bringing politics in to the discussion

    It is absolutely clear that when the first Constitution was agreed the purpose of the association was about racing.

    When the Fell Runners Association became a plc the Articles of Association reinforced the objects of the founding fathers and used the same key words as in the original constitution.

    3. The FRA is established for the following objects (the "Objects"):

    (a) to accept a transfer of the operations and affairs, assets and liabilities of the Association and to become the successor body to the Association;

    (b) to encourage and promote fell running and allied mountain races having
    due regard to the environmental and other impacts of the sport;

    (c) to provide services to competitors, clubs and race organisers;

    (d) to establish uniform regulations for the conduct of competitors, clubs
    and race organisers; and

    (e) to observe the Rules in so far as they concern fell running.

    10 years ago we had all the discussion and spats over safety after Brian Belfields tragic demise. A number of us got heavily involved in the toing and froing but many others got highly fed up and deserted the forum. A couple of years later the toxic Brexit fallout seemed to hammer the decline along with the rise of Facebook as a go to resource for fell running info and advise. It's a fatal combination of events which has fed into the short-termism of modern thinking fed by the rise of social media. I can decry this but I cannot deny the evidence of my own eyes when I look at forum usage. To overuse a quote "we are were we are".
    But I agree with the assertion that there is either a deliberate or accidental combination of circumstances that contributes to the current minimal use of the forum....its probably a bit of both to be fair.
    But what to do? The forum is now like a complete collection of fell runner mags sitting in boxes in the loft....an amazing historical resource but how do you make it accessible for those who need it? And how do you encourage future editions?
    Sadly it'll probably come down to money in the end.
