The earlier the entries become available the more chance of people pulling out.
Do you know.....that thought had gone through my mind too, together with the thought that if 400 was the real maximum number for the race, limiting the list to 400, and encouraging people to formally withdraw if they weren't going to run, probably wouldn't be good for revenue!

But I'm sure that isn't how it works, and it's all for a good cause anyway.
