I wonder if I should have gone straight up the hill side from the bottom of JC and avoided JC altogether? Is there a trod up to NM? The second ascent to druids is OK and decent into Ollerbrook OK, but I wasnt sure of best route up Ringing Roger? I folloed a good path westwrds out of Oller Brook and soon found my self at the normal Edale route to RR. Again is there a more diredt route and any trods?
From GK summit I made a bee line to Crowden bank/stream on steep grass and lots of contouring. Is the any trod here? Weather by then was terrible, whiteout conditions so couldnt see a better route. Any one have any advice which would ne much appreciated.

thanks

Nice one Simon. must have been tough in those conditions.

From JC(bottom) to NM you can go up direct and slightly rigtwards until you pick up the trod on the blunt ridge. this is hard mid-late season due the bracken. the other option is to head up the clough and up the wall line. third and easiest although longer is to take the track left until you can pick up the wall/fence line and up past the quarry.

To RR I take your route as this is nearly all runable but early on you can go direct but this is rough

from GK head south on the path off the top until off the steep bit that avoids the steep contouring.you can go directly west down the blunt ridge and there is a trod but it's not always obvious, esp under snow
