    Re: What headtorch?

I've now sent my Silva LX back to Silva to be repaired, but I've another Dash in the Dark coming up on Friday. I got out my two old headtorches I used last year (an old Myo XP and a Myo 5) and did a night run and it was very hard to see very much - in the end I found it was best if I put both on my head at the same time

I was tempted to try one of the big Silvas, but they've sold out everywhere, and I tried Hope but they never rang back, so I've ordered the new Myo XP from helpful Mr LFW.

Hi Hopey, Thanks for letting me know it arrived, we rely on Royal Mail for all our posting and for all their faults they seldom let us down.

    .
Really appreciate your good custom, my colleague Matt had it wrapped and in the post to you earlier today, so fingers crossed it will arrive tomorrow.

I read about what happened with your Silva headtorch - we used to stock them and are considering doing so once again - and personally I really liked them particularly with the added runners pack, which at the time was part of a free add on promotion - but we did have a few returns which is making me think that perhaps they are not as reliable as we would like to see. It would be interesting to know how many other people had had problems, although there is possibly enough evidence within the body of this forum to make us reconsider.

    Cheers
    LFW

Compared the MYO XP 08 compared to the old one and there is a massive difference!

Both had new batteries in as well!

    Re: What headtorch?

As I am new to using a head torch. I have ordered a Silva LX3 yesterday hoping it arrives over the next day or so to give it a try.

Tried out my Myo XP 08 last night. It's good, but not as fantastic as I'd hoped. I'm suspicious of the cruddy batteries it came with though so I think a back to back comparison with my Duo 14LED (both with fully charged rechargeables) is in order. Watch this space!
