Fairmile results
The long range forecast shows the winds dying down for next weekend thankfully. See you at the Helm.
What a lovely day yesterday was. The second week in February and we were sat having a picnic on the Helm. The only concession to it being midwinter was having to take the ice out of my drink from the pub. Thanks to Dave Appleyard Niall Till and Paul Tuson for the organising. After ending up on my backside twice in the first half mile I think I'll be binning my old fell shoes. The results will be along shortly.
Sounds like our ace reporter isn't going to Barbon next week (see Helm web page http://www.helmhillrunners.co.uk/winter_league.html
Any one wishing to stand in please email your report to our web master after the race.
For anyone that has never done Barbon, it is something of a lifetime experience - has to be done at least once. Very steep climb ,followed by ridge run and very steep descent. One well known local fell runner once said to me that the only flat bit at Barbon was the start line. Give it a go!![]()
Helm Hill Race 10th Feb - RESULTS
Anyone got anything to report from Barbon? It all seems to have gone quiet (thats not just because I didn't go!!)

Cautley this Sunday, with same seniors course as last year up Great Dummacks care of Paul Tuson. Take care with parking on this busy main road and please no dogs on the fell.
Oh by the way it's Loughrigg Silverhow on the same day (sorry didn't mean to hijack that thread).

thanks Harry
Phew!!Just got back from helping Paul flag the junior courses at Cautley. Wind so strong at top of the steep climb on Yarlside it was shredding flags and blowing us off our feet. Bet the High Cup Knickers are getting a battering. Lets hope it is better on Sunday.
