Rumour has it that Wheezing Donkey is a one-man candlepower forum (though he tends to test out other people's head torches rather than actually buying them)

No, Trundler; with my old Lucido ( WHO ELSE ON HERE OWNS SUCH A CLASSIC PIECE OF L.E.D. KIT??) I'm a "one-candle power forum" man! All this 50 lumen b*ll*cks, who needs that much light?? What are you whinging at, I did compliment the beloved Duo after I'd used it!!!
Plus, testing a broad range of kit is essential! I don't want to waste my brass by buying an inappropriate piece of kit!

    Re: What headtorch?

Whilst on this techy-geeky subject; there appear to be plenty of rave reviews on this forum for the Princton Tec 3Watt Apex, has anyone had first hand dealings with Black Diamond's similar offering - the Icon? Then there are the 1 Watt siblings, PT's Eos and BD's Spot. Please post or PM your experiences.
Also, there are rumours of an upgraded Apex being due out - what's the low down??

You'll have to take the plunge and shell out eventually.... That Lucido will blink out on you one of these days and then you'll be sorry, won't you? eh? eh?

Steady on, Bill. Ya cheeky young Cumbrian! My standby is an acetylene caving lamp. An original "little stinkie"! ( "Premier" carbide lamp to be technically correct)

Did another test of the Myo XP 08 on last night's bat run. Verdict is that it still has the same problem as the Tikka XP - the beam is too focussed and with the diffuser it's too diffuse and fails to give enough intensity at ground level.

Nope, it still hasn't bettered the 14LED Duo.
