The whole story would make the longest of Stolly's excellent running stories seem like a one liner. Let us just say that thanks to the most unusual delay I've experienced on the railways I got home over 4 hours late at midnight and instead of a six mile fell run I ended up doing a 6 mile fell run PLUS an extra 8 mile road run and a 4 mile walk with no food since the night before (OK I can't blame the railways for that bit)*

BTW If I ever said I was looking at long distance challenges which I strenuously deny that's exactly what I meant, "Looking"

Worst bit was when I got to Ravenglass and thought I'd lost me money and train tickets. Don't know how I'd have gotten home then, probably would have had to sell me body for the train fare or something

And on that subject, no ride yet, horse was lame

Lame, that's a shame, once tried selling my body, ended up in debt

And some of those West Cumbrians come close to rivalling some of my compatriots on Tyneside in the looks and sophistication stakes!

But seriously being the unfit person I am no way will I have fully recovered even by Sunday's race day so Ambrosia Kid will beat me by an even more embarrassing margin than usual
