    Re: The Ben Race

If there's 500 entries to the race and the entry list is full, how come there's only 16 names on the list? So, if you're 'in' then attach your name to the list.

Good to see the Ben thread back on the leader board!!!

Mapper, you are at it again, getting your name o the entry list. You know that you are not doing it this year.
Or are you hoping for a back door entry !!! Sounds a bit dodgy !!
Give some one else a chance to run.
Any way are you back out on the hills yet?
    Get those studs muddy !!!

    Alreet,

Just had a great email from the bloke who organises the race, explaining a bit about the problems they have with race numbers and stuff - they'd love to have 500 runners on the start line, but the rules just don't allow it, this year! Quality and Quantity matter to them!

Anyhow, Nats and I are in the mid 30's so it is looking a bit iffy whether we'll get a run or not - we'll still keep on bribing / cajouling and harrassing people out the race at every opportunity! Hopefully by then we'll have whittled the reserve list down enough to see a couple of passed winners on the start line too!

Entries for the 2008 race will be on line from the 4th Monday in Sept, although a big word of warning - anybody caught looking before this date will have their IP addresses taken and be banned from all future races!

So, if you aren't able to run and know already then do the right thing

I'll be up there with the family, and we're staying at http://www.limetreefortwilliam.co.uk/. It's the other end of Fort William from the Distillery.

In case you aren't aware, the 2007 World Championship Mountain Biking is on in Fort William from 3rd-7th September and Fort William will be full!!!! We were there last year for the UK round of the World Cup and really enjoyed the downhill race.

You can add my name to the list of forumites doing the race.

Mr Tomsk. No back door entry for me thankyou ~ that is very dodgy indeed!

Yes, my studs have been muddy but not 'race muddy'. Physio has worked wonders so my first race back will be Carnethy, followed by Bleasdale. Should be fully fit after that. Might even manage a session with the Barley Badgers next Tuesday. See you then.
