    Re: Todays Training

3 hours on the bike. Fairly hilly route with my mate Popsy.

Was a little surprised at the pace at which Popsy started to breath heavy which meant it was a bit too easy for me. So after 2 hrs riding we found some flatter roads and I blasted it home with Popsy sitting in. This certainly got my legs hurting a bit, especiallly with Saturdays run not yet 24 hours gone.

A run round the whole of the Winter Hill course including the extra sting in the tail.
Thanks to the Lostock runners for waiting for me several times. Nice to meet Graeme.

41/2 hours slow walking/jogging/scrambling in the Rhinogs yesterday, on tired legs but plenty of ascent in there.
33 miles on the bike today - even slower and even tireder legs.

    Hope the recovery goes well.
It seems one cause of years of Achille pain was the heel bone protruding slightly too much. The op consisted in filing off a bit of the heel bone near the tendon, and partly reconstruct the tendon where it was consumed by friction against the bone.
The surgeon has been age group 400mH national champion himself, wrote a book specifically on Achille tendon sport injury, and treated more than one Olympic finalist.
    Thanks for support

Recce of first bit of Edale Skyline to Hollins Cross. Route choice seemed straightforward but then conditions were perfect.

Had thought of doing whole thing but started to blister up- going to have to reconsider footwear.

Do you mind - some of us are eating!

Training - Same 6 mile route as last Monday/Tuesday but ran it much quicker despite taking the absolute extreme river edge paths that were too dark to use last week. I think this shows how tired i must have been last week after the tough weekend.
