I've been doing this sport for 33 years and I still haven't learned how to remember to take pins and toilet paper to races.

There's a very special trick to remembering pins for races - what you do is give (an organised) co-runner a lift to a race and find that he/she leaves one of those black plastic 35m film containers full of safety pins in the boot of your car. All that you then need to do is to continue to leave the container of pins in the boot of your car. Simple.
It worked for me anyway.
Think this might have been my first fell race, sometime last century. Don't do it Fowler!
Might well have a crack at it for old times sake. See you all in the pub (Crown?) afterwards, for post race warm down and de-brief.
Snow and sleet was forecast, but I see that the current forecast is now for showers. A good short lungbuster, for the ponies out there I would say the going has now changed from good to firm to good. look forward to it.![]()
