Well your weather forecast was right enough today Swoop. I decided to put my overtrousers on near the top of Paddys Pole as the horizontal hail was numbing my legs. Felt like a right sissy at the finish though cos it felt almost tropical.

Got plenty of stick off the mates, but with a time of 1.22 I beat most of them anyway.

Ah well, the great british weather.

    Re: Fiendsdale

I started (and finished) wearing a long sleeved top over a helly, briefs, shorts, tracksters, hat and gloves. Carried waterproofs in my bumbag but didn't bother with them. Think I got it just about right.
I was beginning to get a bit cold and wet during the snow storm but it stopped just at the right time and
I soon felt warm again on the climb to Paddy's Pole. A great race. Thanks to all at Bowland.

    Re: Fiendsdale

My first time back at Fiendsdale on the new route and have to say thought it was a cracking route although I didn't do it justice. Lots of climbing and route choice could be quite difficult in mist.
Well done to Bowland - good organisation with lots of marshals and supporters out on the route.
Just managed to edge Swoop with my downhilling on my first race as a vet 50 - felt like it too!!

    Fiendsdale 2009

As you may know, Fiendsdale has a limit of 100 this year (imposed by land owners).

The list of successful entries will be on the Bowland website in a day or two.
