An easy day Ha! good effort though to run, Al is character and tough as boots. May be the boots will be seen again!!!

I missed Dom, although he may have shouted at me I also missed him in the hall afterwards and I still owe him a beer...

That was Darth of the Darkside I sense a new Avatar coming along.

I was surprised how many people didn't know the race lines.

    Feel very tired tonight
I couldn't have shouted at you as I didn't know which one of the DPFR vests you were! Daz pointed you out after you'd finished, but I didn't get to catch up with you. I was surprised at how many took the stone path down off Mam Tor, rather than the more direct line straight off to the left. Time wise it's little difference but staying on the grass must have been easier running than avoiding the walkers on the steps.

A sharper quip than the chav in white trainers wobbling up to the finish who thought 'Its the bloke from the Quality Street advert'

Well done to you folks who did & helped.. & helped...
(I was more than rather (very) jealous on the sidelines)

Re: Edale Skyline 30th March 2

At least I enjoyed the first half an hour!

I felt very good at the start and went off a bit fast - I was 16th coming off Kinder, dropped a few places on the climb up Win Hill, then completely lost it on the way up Lose Hill. By Mam Nick I had dropped to about 35th, and was rapidly running out of energy. At Jacobs Ladder I could barely run anymore and was in danger of cramping so I just jogged back the rest to finish 76th

UPDATE - I was no faster to Win Hill than I was in 2006, so I wasn't going that fast.

    Boo Hoo...

well done to all who competed yesterday

as for me...oh dear. was running well until mam-nick then it all went pear shaped, to the extent that my hamstrings/groin/back/shoulders/neck (do not delete where applicable) still feel shot to pieces this morning

i was eating and drinking at regular intervals, and pacing myself comfortably based on who was around me...but the slog over brown knoll was truly horrid and i binned the race at jacobs ladder before going further downhill over to crowden/grindslow

    well gutted

Hello all - very nice to meet some forum faces before the race. I got round ten minutes quicker than last year (a much easier 4.17) stopped once as I was unsure of part of route between Jacobs and Grindslow, and made a poor choice between Grindlsow and Ringing Roger (no not up and down, just not the best path). Ascending was ok (as in I was passing people rather than the other way round), bog trotting was alright, but my descending was crap crap crap (my ankles are nicely swollen today after turning them over so often)...any tips, books, exercises much appreciated.

Great day out; I actually got to see where we running this year (you should consider yourself very fortunate if you live local to such a landscape) and to chat to some other runners and marshalls. A big thank you to all those involved in making the race happen.

    Cheers - Raymond

p.s. there were at least two other Brighton based runners in the race (Arena and Phoenix clubs), so I can't even claim the long distance travel award! I'll see if I can persuade some more up for 2009; pictures of this years glorious sunshine and white fluffy clouds should help.

Was nice to meet you Raymond. I was pleased to get round, albeit half an hour after you!

NOOOOO! I can't believe you said that very funny

Swoop you were talking to an oldish guy in a white hat around the time of the prize giving, I thought I knew him but couldn't place him, it wasn't Robin Price was it??

well done everyone & a huge thankyou to the marashalls, organisers & the weather gods Had a great day out tho' feeling a bit battered & bruised today

Stolly, sorry to hear you got injured & to miss you at the start & sorry not to meet up with more of you. I kept my head down before hand, mega nervous & worried I might have a repeat of my Pendle disaster (dnf, injured). Great to get my first AL in the bag, looking forward to a few more now
