Easy 5.5 on hilly forest trails last night. Out with my other half and felt AWFUL, wanted to walk from top of 1st big hill at around 2 miles and never improved.
Good feed, good sleep and a slow 4m recovery run this morning felt better but not right so I will miss tonight and see how I feel over the weekend rather than flog my self (ooh thats a new thread I could start on another forum!)![]()

.
. Another salutory lesson in cause and effect.
. but apart from an instant bruise and lump all was well. so continued on down the hill. I must be very lucky and clumsey as almost immediatly I tripped did a forward roll over some rocks and ended up in a heap, a few scratches but still in one piece
. Got down to the river and washed my muddy legs when i realised that it had started to rain again, luckily it didn't last long as it turned in to the sort hail that feels like you are stood behind a road gritter. I was now running directly in to this sandblaster to get back to the car approx 5 miles away. Heading up to Cutgate the hail was replaced by a blizzard.
I now had to put my windproof pants on as my short wearing legs were developing a thick layer of ice. It's a good job I knew the way home as I was running blind in to the white out.
Running well (for me). As I went back onto the track my left foot didn't stop going down - just found a dip disguised as solid ground by some very thin mud. Didn't bother me at first but soon found my achilles getting too tender to run on.
Just hope a bit of rest and an ankle support will see me right for the Calderdale.
