We did the Malhamdale Meander last year. Cracking event in an ace part of the Dales - highly recommended. Goredale Scar's not too bad Daz!

I know Gordale Scar is not too bad
You know Gordale Scar is not too bad
but if I were to show Lady Slugge this pic:

I know she would laugh in my face
NOT telling her in advance is also not an option if I want to retain my nadgers!

    Re: LDWA events

it seems I underestimated the Good Lady Slugge!

I showed her the pic and she seemed remarkably unphased by it
(although she did say that she wouldn't countenance coming DOWN that way)

so the Malhamdale Meander is back on!

Spoke to Malhamdale organiser (nice bloke) and there are still plenty of places, so booked cottage in Kettlewell

Lady Slugge & I have never done much further than Half Mara, so should be interesting!

I think we're going to have a trot round again this year Daz so hope to see you and Lady Slugge there. It's an deal first long event as very low-key and friendly with mainly walkers and family groups. Kettlewell is a lovely base for a weekend in the Dales too!

Derby Tup - I see from your Location that it would be almost rude of you not to do such a local event!

This will be our first LDWA Challenge event - any newbie mistakes we should avoid...?

Believing it is polite to turn down food and drink at checkpoints ..... you are expected to eat everything put in front of you and then ask for seconds.

It is quite normel to run 25 miles and put on weight, in fact you have failed miserably if you don't

I might have a wander round the Black Mountain roundabout on Saturday, if I haven't fallen apart again by then. I have to start again somewhere
