I think running with a cold (through a cold?) is OK - I've been doing that every other week throughout the winter thanks to the nippers picking things up at school.
Racing, or when you have to give it 100% or as near as poss is tricky. Depends on the event, day etc. If you try and feel dreadful then you'll know for next time...
ive got a cold. ive had a cold for 3 weeks.i had flu for 5 days recently so im not in best health to be honest. try some trebor soft mints to clear your nose. they work brilliantly.

If it's a head cold I still run, everyone seems to have snivling little colds at the moment, not bad ones, just congestion, I've had it for a few weeks and it's annoying more than anything, feel fine, feel I'm running fine, but creating loads of snot when I run. Once it's in the chest then rest. Cyclists have a saying 'above the neck train, below the neck rest', or something similar.
I used to train through colds, they always turned into full blown illnesses. Now I stop at the first sign of feeling unwell, and start again when I feel 100%. As a result I now only ever get a couple of days rest with a cold, and I'm soon back into hard training
i think running with a cold lowers your defences even more , making it worse , best to take a few days off , your not going to lose anything
I have got a cough.
It's kind of even more annoying than a normal cough in that I don't feel 'ill' in the slightest, I just have this constant irritation in my chest which of course gets worse if I try and run
*moan over*
I find several beers sorts everything out
