    Thumbs up Re: Wadsworth Trog

Good luck for tomorrow folks - can't decide if I'm going to have a barnstorming run or wished I'd stayed in bed on the way back from Cock hill.

See you all in the morning.

I bet they close the M62 and we can't get there

If anyone wants to jump on board chuggaboom and have a lift to the race we will be at Hartshead Moor Services at 8.30 (West Bound) tomorrow morning. Its a lot easier having 7 guys pushing 1 car than 7 guys pushing 7 cars !!!

    Anyone wanting a lift give me a call 07714 522021 - Shaun.

Just mountain biked over some of the route to the Waggon and Horses and back for some excellent real ale.
Quite heavy snow up there and settled well by the time we returned about 1/2 hour ago!
Lots of ice as well, nice for coming off after a few pints!
Good luck tomorrow, I can't wear my forumite number/name as I m marshalling at Sandy Gate, but may see some of you in lane Ends (Hare and Hounds) afterwards.
Snow coming down quite good now here in HB.
    See y'all tomorrow.

Well it's forecast to snow heaviliy all night, so let's just hope the snow ploughs are out in time, or we're in for a long walk!

They'll be ok in the morning Coach when the gritters have done there stuff.
A lot of the minor roads are done by local contract farmers who do a good job.

I'll post as soon as I get up in the morning with a weather report 7.30ish on a Saturday

    Re: Wadsworth Trog

Just copied this off the Calder Valley web site.

We are keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for the Trog races on Saturday. We obviously want the races to go ahead (but we want to be sure of everyones safety) and will only cancel them if absolutely necessary. If you want to ring the race organiser, Thirza on 01422 343737 (Friday evening after 6) or mob 07947 794 779 (Saturday morning after 7.30am) please do.

    Re: Wadsworth Trog

Speaking with Thirza last night, my understanding is that if the weather becomes truly atrocious, we will put on a safer route (9 miles, but on tracks avoiding the open pathless fell) rather than actually cancel.
That has never happened, though, in the history of the Trog. So hopefully it won't be necessary this year.

Thanks Bill, I was only doing the Half anyway so a 9 mile trail run will be a reasonable substitute.
