It is still winter on hills above 750m where there is snow to a depth of 30cm. The snow covers all aspects, but is mainly on North and East facing slopes. Full winter clothing and equipment, including an ice axe are essential for anyone venturing above the snow line.
I wonder if my ice axe will fit into my bumbag?

Did the Waltz a few years ago in 6" of snow. Coming off Dalehead, I had a sudden feeling of euphoria, and everything turned bright purple and lime green. Hope it happens again, better than drugs (I'm told)

    Wynn.....hello!!

I'm thinking of coming up tomorrow with the kids probably on my own - (not definate though)......I won't be early as in before the runners as it's not much fun for the kids hanging round esp if it's naff weather!

will there be anywhere I can park?? Laurence won't walk that far and I'm guessing there won't be disabled spots in the field!!!

Just need to prepare myself that's all if I'm gonna have to drag him for a way!

Oh by the way....he eats and eats and eats so the cakes could well be thinned out by the time this lot gat back!!

Just arrived in Keswick. It's dry and the clouds are above Causey Pike and Blencathra which has a few patches of snow on it. Now, if only I can stay out of the pubs tonight...

Cheers, I'll be admiring it for the first couple of miles, funny, but when the route starts to go in an upward direction I seem to lose my ability to appreciate beauty
