Lady Slugge & I just got out confirmation/numbers for Malhamdale Meander (37 & 38 from memory)
I've got map/checkpoints, but
does anybody know if/when we get given a route description (presumably at registration?)...?

Thanks DT, you mean this pub?:
mmmm... cakes and puuuuub...
Back from the BMR, nothing broken and went far beter than I ever have anticipated. Even met Juicers 'better half'. Confidence restored, illness over, and time to enjoy the months ahead![]()
Brill - well done Moley! Nothing like "getting back into it" is there?
Well done Molehill. I forgot how much climbing was involved, came as a bit of a shock on Saturday. The last climb was a killer.
So then...I'm now to be known as "Juicer's better half"!!
Nice to meet you Moley, enjoyed having a run and chat with you. You were going really well.
Did you enjoy "taking it easy" then Matt? You came flying past us Newport lads!! It was a bit better underfoot than Calderdale wasn't it?!?
I must be the only one who enjoyed that hill at 20 miles!! Had a bit of cramp (due to footwear) coming down the road before the CP so had 5-10mins to gain on the Newport group on the climb - which I duly did. All those long hills runs this winter HAVE made a difference
Smashing event, lovely hills, great vast moors. I fancy this again. And next year, I WON'T think it's a good idea to go due west off Waun Fach across ankle-breaking steep ground![]()
Was a good day 1470, nice to meet you. I was very pleased to survive in one piece, a bit aching next day but had a ride and walk. Who was that walker bloke up with us - he couldn't half cover the ground.
Felt ok at the road so decided to give the last section a blast and see what happened, went well and finished that bit in 1.25 to the finish - couple of mins under 51/2 hours overall (I started a bit late), about 3/4 hour up on what I'd have settled for. No complaints and nice to see the course in good weather, I'll know which way to go next year.
Hi DazTheSlug and LadyS,
I'll probably wander up to Malhamdale Meander tomorrow to have a go. It would be good to make your acquaintance. Are you going on the later 09:30 start?
I've done this event once before in 2005, and really enjoyed it. It was 26 miles then, now shortened to 23. On speaking to the organiser this week I learned that the modification was to remove a boring slog towards the end (though I don't remember that).
I'm planning on coming up to Malhamdale tomorrow as well - the organiser said there plenty of places left. Depends on how I feel when my alarm goes off tomorrow morning, going to be an early start to get there to register in time!
