Awesome race, toughest thing Ive ever done. the first half was well hot, it was good to be in shade going up little stand, not that it made it any easier.
Totally drained from that one, managed to hold off the cramps long enough for a good final descent of CAW.
Just noticed I didnt reach all checkpoints before closing time, a big thanks to all the marshalls for keeping them open for so many of us tailenders, and for their verbal support, I needed it eh..

One of my fav lakes races. Diffo hot at times out there. Felt very hot at hardknot, thought probably would have to pull out at threeshires stone. Took it very easy up cold pike and seem to recover to get all the way round, picked up a few places in the last few miles. As toes not used to the big descents in the Lakes this year, was quite slow coming off Caw, so felt quite fresh for a change at the finish.

Really? I don't think anyone else went up Cold Pike.

It's a belting race, this, but I started to suffer with cramps coming off Caw, with made for a bit of a slow finish.

Thanks to The Master for handing out the jelly babies near Brim Fell (I think), and of course thanks to Aalish for the jelly babies at Walna Scar Road (& Lloyd for the water).

After completing the race yesterday, I realised I
was missing my wedding ring. I can only think that it must of come off
during one of the two falls I experienced on the day. One of these took
place on the trail between Swirl How and Dow Crag , the
other about a mile or so north of Caw.

The ring is a gold band and has Helen 17/09/2005 engraved on the inside.

Know its a long shot, but has anyone come across it ?

What a great race. far longer than anything I'd done before. Thanks to all the marshals and all those ofrrering food and drink on the way.

such a beautiful part of the northwest eh, the scenery is absolutely stunning!
It really hurt though and am reconsidering whether I'll get round ennerdale in 2 weeks time, maybe I'll leave that one till next year?

    Re: Duddon

Well done to everyone who finished on a pretty hot and humid day.

Me, I'm still very disappointed after yesterday. Tweaked my ankle backpacking in Knoydart last week, thought it would be ok but went over on it 3 times coming off Harter Fell. No stability at all.

Tried to keep going and hope it would get better, pretty much had to walk the downhills and when even the traverse path across to 3 Shires was proving difficult, decided I had to call it a day

Shame, 'cause it's a lovely route and I was looking forward to the 2nd half. Also now worried that it might not heal in time for Ennerdale

Thanks to people who asked if I was ok as they went past - fellrunners are a lovely bunch of people

Did Joe Bloggs really win the short race?

A great race indeed, go for the Ennerdale Mudlugger, 2 weeks is a long time to recover, if you dont do it you'll regret it, i'v doubled up befor when there was only a week between the 2 you will want to do it in a week.

    Just set off easier.

Do you think it was a Joe Bloggs or the Joe Bloggs.
