    Re: three peaks

Hi Wobblehead, I will probably be up for doing another recce before race day, without the Mudclaws. They felt quite tough on the feet in a lot of places, can't imagine what they'd be like when the ground gets harder on race day. I will hopefully check split times at all he crucial points the next time I go up, let me know some dates, as I am off work a lot during the week etc.

As my post said, I have just got an unexpected three month holiday (at least )!

As long as I can tie it in with the school run, housework and ironing then my diary is not too bad, I live in the area so can be at Horton in less than half an hour, let me know some dates you are thinking of.

    Re: three peaks

i reckon we got round between 4.15 and 4.30, i dnt think it was longer than 4.30, but i maybe wrong.

last time i did race i said i would never do it again, no i know why, whernside is a killer. i was pleased at getting round quicker on reccy compared to mt race time last year of 4.48

it was the type of day i enjoyed more after the event

id be up for going rnd again, but i dnt think id be able to get round any faster than yesterday

Thats a bloody fast reccy guys.

Last time I did the peaks on race day at 4hrs 18mins. I ached for weeks afterwards and took a few months to recover, and I bonked coming off inglebugger

it would have been a bit faster if id not have got us a bit lost between penyghent and nether lodge, also cocked up finding way under bridge up whernside, also im a slower runner which slowed us down a bit. wld be pleased if could get rnd race in that time, but my legs gave way coming of 'inglebugger' it seems a lot longer than 5 miles

I'm actually going to try and run the first section (PYG to Ribblehead V)this weekend to see if I can get there within the 2;10 cut off. I'm a really slow runner - so its actually touch and go - I'd love to do the race but not to be timed out. Thats another reason for not entering (for me)..... so i've not quite given in to spectating yet!

    Daleside,
I marshalled at Ribblehead last year and there weren't that many people who didn't make the cut off time, so good luck to you. It would be great to see you enter the race.
