Why didn't The Master run? Was there a lack of beards to chase or something?

Excellent thanks, race was harder than a big bag of hard things But i'll deffo be doing it again. Young lad's run around all weekend, handed me a bottle of water above Wrynose, then ran down to the road and kept up with me, now wants his own pony vest Daughter prefers shoulder rides so may develop into a camelback

A few of us will be in pink soon enough!!!!! Just want to add to the Duddon adventure, Merrylegs DJ and myself plus an unknown other picked up Mrs Crumbly from the rock strewn path and sat her down on a boulder then palmed her off onto a spectator who looked like they could administer first aid, by then we were the last ones in the field and our chance of a win gone!!!!
The heat got to me and was glad to see Mr and Mrs C + Mick at the 3 shires stone, offering sustinence and support. Then over the moon to see the Master and Ziggy before Dow crag with a drink, cheers for that.
Great to meet up with old and new ponies, glad you enjoyed your evenings camping. DJ you are a star
DJ you have the photo so please post it, I have not the technical knowhow.
Merrylegs, Nuclear Broon in bag now, so next time for deffo!!!!

Mrs C was just saying, minutes earlier, just a steady plod round for herself and no injuries allowed. Glad to see her at three shires alive and well. A backward sprint for last place between myself and Deejay looked a distinct possibility in that empty field. At least it stopped us going off too fast Still a fantastic weekend though. Looking like the BG weekend when we'll meet up again, licking my lips already at the mention of Nuclear B, see you soon Rice Pudd ladd

Many thanks to all who stopped to help clumsy aka Mrs C after her attempt to knock down the wall with her head (not a good idea) she's much better now although still sore.On our return home she got a text off Ozzy offering to do some dry foam walling cheap, talk about jungle drums and news travelling fast .

    Re: Fell Ponies??

Oh it was so good to see all again at Duddon, people from FP people from this forum people who i have seen before, people who i have never seen before!

It's been to long long time 125 days 1 hour and 30 mins was the length of time from my last line up at the back of a race to the line up at the back of the duddon short race on Saturday.

Now i know i will never ever win a race i know i will never be in the headlines in the FRA mag, feck i will never even make the results in the FRA.

But the feeling of starting on Saturday was fantastic, a little nervous as i knew the impending pain was going to hurt like hell, oh and how it did not let me down, the pain going up the last fell Caw i think or as i named it death, was a stark reminder that i will never make money at this.

My legs coming down felt like they had been on an all day bender, of the beer variety, they would just not go in the right direction at all.

But for the number of times that i said to myself oh feck it just drop down here and get back to the start no one will mind, no one will care, no one will probably see, the little voice in side me said just one more step just one more km just one more hill, and in the end the pain some how gave in to the fact that if ignored for long enough will think oh sod it he is not listening to me.

So the end approached and i got there, a ripple of applause a shout from Mr c who i told to leave me alone, while i sat under a tree, sorry Mr c i just need a moment.
I had got round got blisters got pain felt sick, but had got round, on the way home, i felt the warm glow of satisfaction, nothing like the long Duddon people will have felt, nothing that will be remembered by anybody apart from me.
I felt i learnt a lot on Saturday no matter what stops you running on the fells, if you get the chance, to do it just one foot in front of the other and do it.
So spare a thought all you fast runners that pass us slow ones on an out and back race, we are there for our reasons and those reasons are many.

Any ponies doing Paddy's pole because this one is!
