    Re: Snowdon race place WANTED

Thanks Iain, I had my eye on that one too as I've walked up it a few times. It's addictive this fellrunning, can't wait for the next run!

All being well I should have a place now - providing the officials will change our details over. But IanR..... I see you're experienced, and I need some advice. I was well and truly got by stomach cramp half way down cader, which stayed with me to the finish and impeded my time Any tips? I'm thinking strengthen my core muscles - (this was different to your regular stitch), and i'll be trying the tonic water thingy i've read about. Maybe it was the tin of tuna I had at midday. I couldn't help it, a chewy bar just wasn't enough!

Whats this! Rule 4 states names/numbers may not be substituted.
I understand that there is a shortlist of experienced fell runners waiting for a place, why should you jump the que?

Only once had bad stomach cramp and that was after having a gel that just didn't agree with me, some sort of maximuscle type gel or something, wrecked me. I now eat porridge before a race, loads of good carbs, nothing dodgy, always sits well. Paula radcliffes tip. I think it just dragged water to my stomach and dehydrated me.

I'm on the waiting list hoping to get a place as well........ bit of a bummer as I wanted to make up for being crap in 2006! Also on the reserve list for ben nevis but have been told it's unlikely I will get a place! even bigger bummer!

And to top it all I haven't got a place for borrowdale either! as I couldn't print the form off and when I could it was full!!!!!!! At this rate we will have to pre-enter local mid week races months in advance

It's very nice of you to suggest Andy, but I need to be a lot faster to make the England team.
