Arrochar Alps race route, 13 miles, 8000feet ascent. A slow plod around with another Westie at the end of a hard week (including the race yesterday where I found out I was 18/71, my best result so far).
Low cloud and strong winds on first summit, then got better and ended in bright, hot sunshine. The driest I have ever seen these hills, but still plenty to drink until half way up Ben Ime. Felt good all the way and am finding eccles cakes to be a wonder food for these long days, alternated with malt loaf and feel fine.
Easy week now before Ennerdale.
Jason.

Talk about shattering the silence! Anyhoo, had a steady run down, until I went arse over tit infront of atleast 20 walkers, ended up with bruising to both my forearm and ego.A few comments were noted, such as "Bravo","Are you mad?" and my fave,"well done young man" (christ!!) .4400 ft,2hrs 10.A few hours later back at Glen Nevis campsite, saw helicopter hovering round about half way up,didnt think much of it but was told by a walker this morning that a 62 year old man had fallen form Devils Ridge(I think)and died.

And you were drinking pear not peach cider
