It's the e-mail from S4C that you get if you enter the race - every year I reply but it doesn't get me on TV!

Last year I was interviewed by the TV reporter/commentator at the turning point at the summit but as I arrived there just as Andi Jones was finishing the race it never got on TV.

I have not had any Questionnaire, never mind one less thing to fill in.
Just a point about the Puma trailfox, just to back skarsnik up.If it is wet or even damp i will not be wearing the trailfox, they are lethal in the wet ! I would rather wear road shoes than them.I Think they have made the sole with a hard material to prevent wear, but this makes them rubbish for grip. Will be wearing some inov8 320 if wet although they are not great in the wet either ! Would wear my 280's but not enough cushioning and slightly flat and clompy for such a long descent.I just hope it's dry.

Don't forget to soak your socks, and grease(vaseline) your feet Rodders.

Still undecided myself rodders. May just sod it and go for my walshes. There's quite a bit of grass if you get the right line. A fair few of us have been out over the last week testing shoe options, much money spent and wasted..:-)

Hi CL,not sure about soaking socks, will cool for a while but surely will soften feet and cause blisters that way ! Might just plaster feet on known hot spots ! Iain i tend to get sore feet with my walshes on any long hard descents, around my sole and towards my heels.I can see the dilemma mind, needing a shoe thats tight and stops movement in the shoe, but has cushioning and grip and role and lightweight
What are you doing this weekend as prep ? I'm in two minds whether to do Fan y big or go and recce Snowdon early hours of sun morning before the walkers !

ps.I agree with the shoe expense,i ran Moel y gamelin race other week and took 5 pairs with me not knowing which to choose ! Who says it's a cheap sport.

I'm doing my usual tapering..so will do Siabod Race Saturday and the Orme Uphill 5 K Race Sunday, Race the train 5k Wednesday and Snowdon Race next Saturday. I find I run best of high mileage high racing.

Been up and down the route a few times now. Will do it once more as it changes a lot, new path sections, new fence sections..
