On a more serious note, there is a mention by someone regarding a future discussion in the mag of photographers being paid for images vs writers not being [lent my copy out at the mo so can't give specifics]. Might be better to discuss here first - I didn't think anyone was being paid for images
I'm not sure payment is necessary, what the BMC do for the 'Summit' is provide the author with guidebooks, something similar would be nice, at most I'd favour a Pete Blands/other running shop Voucher that the FRA could purchase therefore supporting the sponsors thereby keeping the money in the sport?

I had the same problem with the last issue- Britta put me in touch with Debbie Thompson (membership enquiries)- it turned out my direct debit had no reference number attached to it so they had no idea I'd paid. The summer issue arrived with no probs this time around.

Her contact details are in the front of Fellrunner (if you've got a previous copy- if not PM me and I'll give you an email address)

I have to say, I'm MASSIVLEY impressed with the fellrunner!!! I expected a magazine like you get from the BMC (which is really good), but the quality of production of the fell runner is just another level!! 3 magazines and a hand book as well for only £8 a year. Glad I subscribed now

As always a great magazine - gets better all the time.

However, was saddened to read of the demise of one of our members - Jimmy Niblett.

I wonder what Jimmy's thoughts are on the article? I hear he's not in brilliant health but still very much with us!

I presume there'll be an apology in the next issue.

Gordon - We've been made aware of this error very soon after publication and Bill S is looking into what went wrong.

He's been on the phone to Jimmy already, but due to his ill health wants to go see him in person once he has cleared up how he sourced the wrong information.

Bill certainly intends to submit an appology for the next issue.

    Hey don't knock the BMC!!!

Sunday was amazing, until I decided 3/4 of the way down Snowdon, I had mastered running down the mountain and so decided to try throwing myself down it. I can assure you the rocks came of better than I did........

    Britta,
I didn't mean to make it sound like a criticism - these things happen!
As someone who spent a number of years producing pages for the likes of Northern Runner and Midland Runner as well as a number of other publications in the industry, I do think that magazine is exceptionally good these days (not that it has ever been poor) and stands out against anything in the magazine field.

    Regards G
