So that's why I didn't win No worries, for some reason I was telling people on the day it was 16 miles

Well done all especially topless Daz H who i think was trying to blend in with the cows.
He's made of stronger stuff than me in that weather.
I took an alternative way down one of the short descents down to one of the checkpoints, landed on my back and slid down on my arse.
My back is f*****g killing me.
    Cracking race though.
What are them vet 60's on, i want some.

Dont worry about the V60s , you had a good strong finish. Well done

That was good race - Those grass steep descents are a bastard. Almost perfect navigation this year - remembered to skirt around Calders anf followed Wendy Dodds off Winder who took a line I never would have but was definitely easier and quicker.

They looked a bit like the pair I was wearing. I tried not to touch them any more than I had to!

Great race yesterday. It's about 3 years since I last ran it and can't remember when we had good views all round. Navigation was spot on and although the Calf was in clag I remembered to countour round Calders. Weather got get a bit nasty on the descent to Winder when the rain set in. The cold of the rain must have affected my performace towards the end as a couple of clubmates took 7 minutes out of me from the Calf to the finish! Yeah, 7 minutes in about 3 miles of descent !

Anyway, now looking forward to the 3 Shires in a few weeks.

First of all a big thanks to the marshalls especially the man on The Calf and the lady on Winder who got the worst of the elements later in the race. I decided to get into my waterproof top near the top of The Calf and was glad I did as the cold from the wind and rain was starting to get to me. I missed out the shortcut round Calders as I hadn't tried it before and didn't want to get myself lost as I was pretty knackered by then!. Legs were definitely at the rubbery stage on the descent from Winder.
Apart from that really enjoyed it

Stuck it out and left the waterproof in the bumbag and enjoyed the wet and cold coming off the calf. Was quite nice descending that amazing run across the side of Arant Haw and popping out the clag above Winder and the valley below. That mile stretch has to be one of the best racing miles in the calendar.

Shame I was already 2 mins down on last year's time by the time I got there
