Another one to consider is an Energiser 3 LED model which gives a 65 m range and a light brighter than some Petzls. Only £8-48 from B&Q !!

Bill, you've beaten me to it!! I was thinking of starting a new thread; "Taking bets - How long before some-one starts a new 'What Headtorch' debate, now that we are into late August?"
The cake recipe is on my external hard-drive at home, will send it tonight.
As for 20th September - Reade boy has binned his PB on the 6th (niggling injuries and uncertainties about which leg(s) to do in the dark now that nights are getting longer) so hopefully I can transfer that passout to the 20th.

I do like the Petzl Ultra, but it's out of my price range and I don't feel I need a light that bright.

The Petzl RXP looks good, but I bought the XP 2008 edition so I'm not going to update just yet, are Petzl going to be updating the XP every year now?

Jesus H, Adrian, you only have one head!
Although if you bought the Petzl Ultra you could illuminate the fell for everybody else!

Ha ha the XP is ok when running in a group, but when running on my own it's always handy to have that bit of extra light.

I wonder if I could get one as a wedding present

    Re: What headtorch?

It's a bit depressing yet exciting at the same time. Went out for a run last night at 7 and came back just before 9 as it was getting dark, didn't even think of putting in a head torch, but we're getting to that time soon enough. But the flip side is fell running in the dark is brilliant, so I can't wait.
