guess i'll be there Ali. Local knowledge means I'll only get lost a bit
Ali, what exactly is this, running or cycling.
Are there any other events coming up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkkJC...eature=related - Wild Beasts
Ay up Jamie,
these are running events although people have been known to cycle or even walk them when injured/on the way back from injury.
Basically you get a very detailed map usually 1:10000, 1:12500 or 1:15000 with streets, back alleys and a number of 'controls' marked on. You have 45, 60 or 75 minutes (choice is yours) to score as many points as possible.
Controls are things like telegraph pole numbers, fire hydrant H-fractions etc.
Obviously you need a headtorch and a pen to write down the control answers on the supplied spreadsheet.
Future events :
15/10 Clitheroe
22/10 Chorley
12/11 Carnforth
26/11 Fulwood
10/12 Thornton
14/01 Lancaster West
28/01 Kirkham
11/02 Clayton-le-Woods
25/02 Helmshore
15/03 Lancaster South
Get yourself down there, good fun and excellent fartlek training. We always stay for a pint afterwards
Cheers, Ali
Ps see you tonight Pudgy
Never done any of these but i plan on doing the one at Carnforth on 12th Nov
If you want to get a bit of practice in (in the daylight) you could always
have a go at the 'Yorkshire Pudding' Skipton event on Nov 2nd !
