I too cannot understand why the original question was treated with such sarcasm. The entries came out in November last year. I was thinking of asking the question of next year's race myself but am glad I didn't bother.

There was no sarcasm in my original post on this thread

this forum, and it users are at times guilty of such...dare i say...idleness.

if an individual cant find the information (i.e. race entry) they require on the official website. then a simple email to the race organiser would, im sure, provide such information.

    for instance.....

Forumite (pick one)...oh dear...i so want to do next years 3Peaks. but i dont know when the entry form will be available.....how will i find out

some time later after the Forumite has thought through their options

Forumite..I know... there is an official 3Peaks website which has all the information on. i will have a look on that....damn..the entry info isnt there.....BUT there is some information that says "All enquiries regarding entries should be made to Bryan Speight email: [email protected]" ....Great... i think i will ask on the forum instead

some time later after the Forumite has engaged in some, at times, abusive posting, he decides to email the race organiser

Forumite..Hi Mr race organiser..when can i get an entry form for next years 3Peaks

Organiser....F**K me your a bit keen aren't you.. its 6 months 'till the next race....dont you ever read the FRA Forum

I suspect the person who made the original post did look on the website (as I did also). Having found that the website hadn't been updated yet he may well have thought "I wonder if any of those friendly chaps on the FRA forum know anything. I'll just start a thread, it will do no harm". Perhaps he didn't want to bother the race organiser who may well get bombarded with such enquiries.

    Just a thought.

Anyone else find this thread surreal?

Fozzy42 - perfectly reasonable question, especially given that entries last year opened in November.

Here's the link to the website:
    http://www.threepeaksrace.org.uk/

Although it hasn't been updated since April 2008, so who knows if the contact information is still correct.

Some races do have entries that fill up months before they're run.
e.g. Ben Nevis - entries: January, race: September.

I'm not idle, well not all the time anyway, but as a newbie I sometimes find asking questions like this are a good way to get chatting and to get to know people on the forum. Bit like chatting to strangers at a race etc - you sometimes ask a pretty dumb question just to get a conversation started.
