Sounds grim!
Choose a good year to sit it out!
Shame for all those on the hills today, but sounds like it was the right call - and a nightmare to get out as roads are blocked!
Just seen on the local BBC news, Look North, that the police and mountain rescue are attempting to rescue hundreds of people trapped at Honister. Reporter said it was some sort of 'charity event'!
Start rattling those tins, giving out the flags and signing the sponsor sheets!
Now a 'latest' (with more to follow) on http://news.bbc.co.uk/
Let's just hope everyone gets home safely.
Sounds dramatic.
Let's hope/assume it's the usual media hype.

BBC News Channel covered the story about 10 mins ago. Reporters didn't have a clue what the event was about, I'm sure they called it a 'charity' event and questioning what they were doing out in those conditions...
Fingers crossed for all out there

...at least this report has removed the word 'charity' http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cumbria/7691020.stm
we just got a call from marvin to say that the competitors have been moved to nearby hotels and the event is totally called off.
