Tesco have got some LED torches in different sizes - I got the 'c' battery size one. puts my myo XP in the shade (haha), and don't much bother with the headtorch if I'm just out for a run and don't need to be hands free.

Fair enough. Otherwise I was thinking of having it dangle around the waist area.

Haven't you got enough dangling round the waist area?

    Re: Fell running at night

Going right back to the start of this thread I find I'm a bit slower in the "dark" but perhaps only 20-30 secs per mile. Then again I'm running on easier terrain generally main hazard on my last head torch run was bunkers.

Headtorch? It's hardly the same with a light.

I'm quite new to fell running at night, but I've done a lot of road running at night. I find that it's much better to wear your head torch around your waist. That way a lot more light makes it to the ground. I also have a small red led on the back of the strap for road running. I'm definately slower on the fell at night.

i agree with the head torch around the waist idea! it is more comfortable and stops the light glare in the eyes.
    thanks for the tip

You should point the light away from your face!
