    Re: edale skyline

I was down in Edale walking with a group including ex/part-time/one-off/never- quite-made-it/hopefully-one-day-again fellrunners.

Although we didnt set off til 10.45 we saw 4 or 5 groups/pairings along the skyline as we walked up Grindsbrook Clough, plus a further 3 or 4 individuals as we walked towards and down Jacobs Ladder - including one poor lad who must've gone over on his ankle given the way he was struggling back down from the edge - hope he's ok for the race itself.

It was certainly a cracking day to be out and I bet you are all hoping for similar conditions on race day now!!

Anybody fancy a run along the route this weekend ? Maybe not the full distance but perhaps 3/4 qtrs or until we get jiggered.

Did second part yesterday from Mam Tor . Very misty and claggy underfoot for a lot of it. But ran with very experienced runners who imparted lots of tips!!! Father and son had even done Bob Graham. Oh! Bow down!!

Can't believe the cut off is 2 and a half for the first part!! I hope I make it!!

Get one of those race maps, Manhar.

Seriously, hope you're OK - it was good to see you last week. I would have liked to have looked at Edale skyline today but I'm up to my eyes in it with work and juggling it with Watershed training. Hope to have a recce of skyline some time after next week if I can fit it in.

Cheers JD -or should that be Grouse - I'll be fine - it's just that (and I was going to mention this last week) I seem to have to work at my long runs and really envy everyone planning / carrying out the longer races/training runs.

2 years ago I was running well, almost effortlessly. I remember 1 glorious 4 hr run where I had the great feeling of thinking I could run all day. I only curtailed the run because I had to be home to do other things.
Now after 2:45 hrs it tends to become a real slog.

All I want to do is recapture that form.

    Hope you manage it Manhar.
Shame you missed Edale today. The clag was down and the rain was quite heavy at times but I managed to get round the second half and reinforced the things we learnt last week. Looking forward to the race now!

Sounds as though the weather might be ok tomorrow morning.
If so I am going to have a go at running the first half to Mam Nick in 2.30 or thereabouts.
Just to convince myself I can do it on the day.
