there's no choice but to bomb down geronemo, no way of stopping unless one carries an ice axe to dig on. Frightens me a little that descent

oh no, you dont wanna do that, there's some great little rocks to give ya some bruises and grazes

To tell you the truth, it may not be a bad descent to you. But as i'm a newbie, to fell, it was a sheer drop to me

I watched the race from the bottom last year and none of the front runners came down the path, they were all to one side of it.
It was only when the masses came down that the path was used but it slowed people down.

I'm not exactly the most experienced fell runner myself.

would be boring following a path down there, better to go wild and lob straight down it. Well, zig zagging

Geronimo, the cliff like drop into Ogden Clough, has got to be one of the best/worst/most suicidal/brilliant/spectacular/horrid/most arse sliding/most ball breaking <delete as appropriate> descents going. Its also quite along way down. In many respects sticking to the boggy and bouldery track that aims you diagonally down the hill/cliff face is the safest route to follow..... but it is slower. A lot of runners go down to the right where it can be faster but more dangerous. I threw myself off the top last year and ending up sliding down much of the way on my backside.

i was trying to alay MXhornet's fears of it (and mine), oh boy, i have to face that vast descent again tomorrow, hopefully a little faster than last time
Funny thing though, on the map, you can tell its steep due to the contour lines, but it seems such a short descent, quite a rude awakening when you get there and are faced with a 90degrees cliff
