I wasn't going to give up in the first mile fo a 22 mile race now, was I??? So after a couple of miles things eased off a bit and I finished the race all right. I joined some of my friends who had already finishes to wait for those who had not yet... and they pointed at the top of my left shin.

There was a huge swelling and lots of bruising and when I touched it, the tibial tuberosity was actually floating on top of my shin oh dear, I had fractured it!!! It even squeeked a little when touching it... my (male) friends were all grossed out and insisted I'd go to the first aid people and A&E... but a just had a pint and an icecream and all was well :-) But now I have this HUGE lumpy tibial tuberosity sitting on top of my shin... ah well...
You certainly seem like your in the right sport then!

Wikipedia says "Narrow below where the anterior surfaces of the condyles of the tibia end in a large oblong elevation, the tuberosity of the tibia, which gives attachment to the ligamentum patellae."

If it was in dutch i'd understand it better.

LOL, I'd like a lab, of the variety where you do experiments...

Off to bed too, night all!
