    Re: Today's Training

Nothing on Friday. Still felt totally battered from my bike incident. Saturday; drove down to Bolton or rather round and round until I bumped into Leverhulme Park. Had a ball doing the x country, gather it was around 6 miles, maybe slightly less. Still felt sore warming up but felt fine racing if a little short of speed but then I haven't raced much for a few months. Got round in a touch over 38 mins, no idea of my position. Thouroughly enjoyed it. Strange how I could feel all those bruises on my warm down.

As every numpty knows you always round race distances up - it was 17 miles!
(CleM have it down as 16.8 so its definitely not 16).

Run to Dovestones and back. Roman Rd, Plantation, Dovestones Car Park and back. Lots of Mountain Resuce people out and about. Looks like there is either an event on, someone lost and a training event in progress.

Nowt today - busy with bairns. 2.5 hours off road biking yesterday with 530m ascent. Excellent ride on recently purchased Specialized Rockhopper Disc. I belive I have found the perfect bike for me imperfect figure. Good mix of leaf ridden singletrack offering little purchase for the tyres and ice like wet chalk on the Downs. No bugger else was out there!

9 miles across the muddy and boggy fields near me. Really good run, saw a woodcock and had to upright a sheep stuck on its back.*
Also saw a dead sheep that was very bloated and had its eyes pecked out.

*NB - If you ever see a sheep stuck on its back kicking....go and flip it onto its feet. It will either suffocate, die of a panic attack or have its eyes packed out.

11 miles on local tracks, footpaths and roads. 1300 feet of ascent We took in such diverse sights as a country park, Gateshead Metrocentre, a disused railway line, a brewery, some woods and a car boot sale. Only notable for me going arse over tit in the woods and ending up face down in a muddy pool.
