A robin decided to keep me company whilst I filled the car with stuff for the tip. No fear at all - it just hopped out of the way when I was picking things up right next to it.

Just seen a Fox out of my window, across the road, heading for the woods. They'll be more wildlife sightings later at throwing out time in the village

Do we get Bearded Tits this far north, cos I think we had some of them as well, looked to be the wrong colour for Long Tailed Tits

My RSPB bird book says that apart from in 'eruption' years when presumably we get many more Waxwings then there's probably only around 100 in the country so t ey're rarer than I thought.

Long tailed tits are one of my very fave birds and a wonderful pink colour - I often see a flock of 6-10 near Barden on the river. Bearded tits I've never seen and they're almost exclusively reed bed specialists so kind of species you'd see at Leighton Moss etc

They've bred well this year at Leighton Moss, Silverdale but as far as I know they're very local to there (large areas of reeds).

Seen a few lately on the grit trays there, they're quite a different size/shape to the long-tailed tits.

Two snow buntings on the summit of Nicky Nook, edge of Bowland, during last night's run.

    NICE!

I saw a buzzard munching on a dead pheasant from the train windon yesterday.

And some pretty weird looking animals in central London as well.
