for a team, we need either 10 blokes, or (for a "mixed" team) we need 5 blokes + 5 lasses
I have also mentioned this to some friends of mine who are Stockport Harriers
I think they would prefer to put in an "official" club team, but if they can't raise one, there might be a few of them who would be willing to join forces with us
They are having the same trouble with only a couple of ladies interested, so maybe if we could raise 15 blokes + 5 lasses between us, we could enter 2 "composite" teams...
For Em....(I got it off the Pennine Relays website)
''Teams Entered''
....21 Preston Harriers (Open)
22 Preston Harriers Vets (Vets)
23 Preston Harriers Mixed (Mixed).....
I was just wondering, how exactly does a relay like this work, do you actually pass something on from on leg to the other.
I was looking on the website and found this....
Rule 8.
Bum bags must not be passed on at leg changeovers from one runner to another.
....eh? So do you not get to run with your own bumbag with your own stuff in it![]()
Quite the opposite young Fowler........the rule means that each runner MUST have their own kit....there's no sharing of emergency kit ie- passing it on the the next runners at changeovers....
Was speaking with SOPHIE at the weekend by the way Mr Fowler.....she seems absolutely smitten with you.
There are 5 legs with 2 runners on each leg but also reserves are needed because between now and then people will drop out due to commitments illness and injuries, also other helpers are needed to help with logistics ie ferrying runners about to the start and at the finish of each leg.
Oh what a busy day.![]()
