I thought he was heard to say "where do I get application forms to join the Ponies?"

If Sale are racing in a Fell Race event, Pike and a Mr Green, would have to don the Sale Colours as that is their 1st claim club.

So i guess they'll both be wanting to see some improvement on our debut attempt at Fell Racing, and Horwich will be hoping we all go back to running along the flat of the Mersey Valley.

I think our Team Manager hoping to get 2 mens and a Ladies team for the Pennine BW Relay is a bit ambitious with only a month to prepare. I think 2 mixed teams would be better, and more fun.

Sounds like Pike realises that he has more chance of success on the fells with Team Horwich rather than Sale Harriers. Just like Nick Leigh realised when he managed to set the standard for all to follow by picking which ever fell club he wanted to run for regardless of the fact that his own club were a very established fell club, enter many a FRA relay etc and di rather wekk in them.

Good luck to you Pike, you carry on running for Horwich as I would love to see what people could do about the issue.

    Re: Calderdale Way Relay 08

As far as I know - and that isn't very far - Mr Leigh did have a written agreement with the NoEAA to do this and it was also agreed by both clubs.
So although it is a breach of the rules as they are set out, it is in fact an authorised one.

The only other such "bending" I'm aware of was Michael Hunt of Pendle, a club who stopped participating in relays as they didn't have enough seniors interested to take part. So he got authorisation to run road only for Trafford about 3 years ago - he has since moved clubs altogether I think.

I think the worry for some of these other examples quoted on a regular basis is that they are self-appointed first claims wthout clear authority from the relevant eligibility committee and would be vulnerable to a challenge should anyone make one.
In such a situation, a significant team DQ may well be the outcome, unless they have some sort of written clearance to move clubs allegiances as they do.

Will anyone ever make the challenge though, or will we all just scratch each others eyes out on the forum?
