    Only £16

Ha think, I'll give it a miss.

Very expensive for a B cat trail race

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on the website and see its bin updated, entries accepted from early January.
But does seem a tad steep at £16. I thought after last years £20 it might revert to the previous years £8 or thereabouts, but nevermind, it seems like a bargain compared to what I'm paying to do Tough Guy end of January.

    Re: Three Peaks 2009

Just wondered, does this race attract a better standard of runner than say the 'average' fell race ?

I've wanted to do this since completing the 3P's cx race this summer, and have gone about doing some AM's and BL's all of which I've managed to finish in the top half of the field.

i recently did the Roaches 15miler in a tad under 3 hours

But looking at the cut off's at Ribble head ( 2hrs 10 at 12 ish miles ? ) and Ship Inn and the results it appears that if similar cut off's were in place at the fell events I've already done 1/2 of the field would be DQ'ed ?

    thanks for any replies

It attracts large numbers so bigger chance of more 'elite' runners but if you are managing the top 1/2 of the field in your previous FR's then the cut offs should not be an issue. The 1st climb is very runnable and the space between to the 1st cut off point is flat and fast(ish) so I would say you would be fine.

Ship Inn ? I think you might be a bit short of the necessary navigation skills even for this race .

Missing this one in 2009. The online entry system starts bang in the middle of my hols anyway when I'll be away from a PC anyway.
