Looks like I might not be doing it this year.
My daughters birthday is on the 10th and when I tested the water she told me not to do it as I'd already done it last year. Wants me to go to her party this year -missed it last year because of this (she had given me permission that time).

...and before anyone says I'm too soft! Not spent much time with the kids over the last few weeks because of the PhD and my relationship with them is more important than any particular run.
