Definately a good one, in particular if you make it down off the hill in one piece and get yourself out in Llanberis at night..............I would call it a classic Welsh saturday night out - think of Ben Nevis / Borrowdale after party and multiply that by 15 pints and there you have it - Snowdon post race party...it's the Llanberis locals big Saturday of the summer so usually all half cut by the time the race sets off and passes the Vic hotel / pub..............on top of that add the fact that half the counties population are lagering it up at various stages of the route, all makes for the best spectated fell race in Britain I believe?!......................................... ..aye you'll deffo enjoy this one!

Hmmh - only just seen this, interesting.............though definately agree, if there's a prize for getting up fastest then deffo need something for downhill fastest - surely Health and Safety reason isn't true?

    Exactly my comment yesterday:

"Descent would be too dangerous". Health and Safety my a--e. What complete and utter c--p!

So why is anyone allowed to run down to the finish from the summit as fast as they can as part of the race if it's that dangerous? Perhaps the second half of this classic should be abandoned completely if only the ascent is safe enough to award prizes for. In fact why even bother with the first half!

Come on, there may be reasons for having special prizes for the ascent only, but don't blame it on "Health & Safety"! That's just an excuse for not having a genuine reason!

    IAWN Math
I'm in the process of discussing this issue with the committee, at first I did suggest a downhill fastest category, (H & S is the issue, but you know as it is, with some poeple,). I will keep you posted. Maybe a runner could be up at the summit in 1.05 and that he or she could come down in 25mins who knows, and vice versa, 50 to the top and maybe 55-1hr to come down.

Also this year I forgot to mention in previous posts, theres a cut off point at Clogwyn Bridge of around1hr 15mins......correct cut off time will be agreed in the next few weeks.

    Diolch /Thanks
    Steve

This weekend usually involves alot more alcohol , past couple of years have been cracking weekends. Pubs are very busy & the Italian competitors are excellent entertainment on the karaoke.

Theres also a cracking cafe on the main street, think its called 'Petes Eats' to soak up all that booze in the morning.
