I'm a newbie, last night 1hour hill training on the tread mill, people in the Gym think i'm strange 1 hour weights, no problems felt good, short run tonight. Had a light healthy snack early on, ate my main meal around 21.00hrs found it hard to sleep. Will have to think about food better on a Wednesdays.

Beta blockers and training don't mix.
18 miles on the bike and all the time it felt like there was a governor to stop me revving too high.

Cracking afternoon out, Fairholmes into the Upper Derwent valley, Howden Edge, Outer Edge with some bog hopping over to Margery Hill and the other Howden Edge down to Derwent and Fairholmes for a cuppa tea and some cake

Not a sole to be seen once past Howden Resorvoir and excellent weather

Ran out from Boltby yesterday to get some hillwork in when a course I was on finished early. I overestimated how much time I had and was in the forest at dusk with snow falling heavily. The map was difficult to read in the gloaming and I didn't have a compass. The going was execrable and I almost started to worry. After a very circuitous route I got to Boltby in the dark, plastered in snow from head to foot wearing only skimpy shorts and a cotton t shirt. Must've looked a weird sight as I sprinted back to the car to get warm.
8 miles 1175' ascent. A memorable adventure as it turned out.

    Re: Today's Training

Best training run of the year so far. Only 1h 15m but felt comfortable and no stopping. Some form is trickling back at last... Hope I won't make too much of a spectacle of myself at the Ian Roberts race on Sunday.
