Arrghhhhhh just realised how daft I've been to enter this!

    Oh well!

Right as I haven't had time for a recce and am pretty much a middle of the pack I'm assuming there are enough people around for me to follow?

Also the kit list specs full waterproof body cover, which is fine except its states a cagoule with a hood???
    Mine dosen't have a hood!

    10:30 start.

I'm almost in the same boat re. cagoule, but I think I have an old tatty one with a hood.

    Re: edale skyline

Well, it looks like I've failed in my race to get fit for this one. Picked up an ankle injury last month at Mickleden Straddle & I still haven't shaken it off. I'm sure I could get round, but long term I need to get fit for the summer.

If the weather's looking ok I'll probably take my daughter up to the top of Jacob's Ladder & dish out water to the weary runners (and dates for Margarine & Grouse).

So, I'll expect to see you all at various times - here's my guesses:-

    12.20 - Lloyd & the other speedsters
    12.45 - Joe & MarkO
    12.50 - Slippery Stones & Daz
    12.55 - Grouse & Margarine
    13.00 - Marvin
13.10 - LuvShack (are you running?)
    13.15 - NOYH & Werdna Swilnik
    13.45 - Swoop

    Any other guesses?

Oh, and by the way, you'd better all sort out cagoules with hoods - I think IanDarkPeak is gonna be pretty strict.

Have a good race, everybody, and remember - just keep Edale on your right hand side & you can't get lost!

Lloyd was at Jacob's Ladder in 1hr 56min last year & it's likely to be faster going this year. For one thing, we had deep snow in places last year & also Lloyd wasn't exactly under any pressure.

As for Swoop - 2hr 15min to Mam Nick, then another hour should be about right.

I will be happy with that Geoff. It should enable me to get round in under 5 hours.
Sorry you are not fit but will give you a wave if I see you.
I don't understand this hood business considering we are taking hats anyway. If I have to take my
old M&S caghoul because it has a hood I will have to ditch my top which is more waterproof!

You'll have to get your skates on Swoop if you are to get round the second half (9.5 mile) in an hour.

All the best with you're running Geoff hope you're back soon.

There will be three or four kit checkers and we can only go by what is in the race instructions and what the race organisor says. We won't be harsh just practical, if it say's you have to carry that kit YOU WILL have to carry that kit.
The weather conditions are looking more severe than last year
I had my stove on the go melting snow and I had to give warm water to a number of blue runners in last year's race, We also 'suggested' to a number of runners to carry more food, most of these thanked us afterwards. Kinder is no place to be lost on in those conditions with minimum kit.

I hope you all have fun and a great race, it truely is a classic.

    Ian
