ooh XC! quite fancy a go at that next season - hopefully EA registration will help my cause in being admitted to the inner sanctum of this arcane closed area

I would be interested to be CC'd on the emails of this debate!

Well, I was going to call him fat but I've been told that word is monopolised these days.

I'm quite comfortable with calling the master fat......you should hear the abuse I have to take off him.....twig indeed......i recall those days

Inner sanctum is right.....a good lot of the xc people are every bit as nice as fellrunners to be fair......you doooo get the odd muppet however that doesn't believe you've got a right to compete at xc if you're not a member of a UKA registered club......I would enjoy greatly telling them that you are EA registered as an individual if I were you.........and maybe you'd like to fold your number in front of them too.....hahahaha

I always fold my number... I am so small, I otherwise can't see the ground in front of me for it covering my whole body, including my eyes...

    Actually, that is a lie...

As you can see form my avatar picture, me in recovery pose after Garburn Trail Race 2008, I actually tend to pin my number to my shorts... stops it from flapping and makes it easier to take off/put on layers without covering up your number... Obviously, I therefore always fold my number and have been told off on numerous occasions...

Anyway, I think folding numbers is good prcatice... and should be promoted until every race goes back to writing numbers on runners hands

There should be a handicap race system then all you twigs would know what it's like to carry round a baby!
