Bunkhouses, do explain please? i do not do camping, but that sounds interesting, maybe i am too much of a novice for this, but it does sound interesting.

Apart from B&B/hotels there are four levels of accommodation for outdoor people in places like the Dales, Lakes and Peak which generally fit these descriptions/price levels

camping - on a site with a tent, basic washing facilities - £5+
camping barns - don't need a tent but do need sleeping bag and usually a mattress. Basic cooking facilities - £7
bunkhouse - have bunk beds but need sleeping bag, basic cooking facilties - £10
youth hostel - have bunk beds with all bedding provided, better cooking facilities - about £16 upwards (+£3 if not a member). Meals optional (OK but not outstanding quality or value like they used to be). Pros: slightly cheaper than B&B and often in where there is not much alternative accommodation. Cons: lack of privacy/possible noise/debatable whether VFM.

Yes must not forget that. Could be something for the future Darth - a self-sufficient bivvy weekend on a two day route . I recommend Ronald Turnball's Book of the Bivvy for any beginners interested in that sort of thing - an excellent read full of info and ideas.

id be up for this depending on which weekend, might only come for one day unless can get a pass out for weekend, horton sounds great, one of my favorite places to run from
