Well very interesting weather developing here in Glossop. Heading off to spectate off the top of Mam Tor soon. Predicting quite a few drop outs and quote a few getting lost if this weather continues. Quite nasty out there just now

anyway good luck to all who start

    Good luck everyone.

Weather here in Leeds is cold with snow showers so I am guessing it is going to be pretty bleakdown there.

Wrap up warm and stay safe.

Got to say I ama tad jealous of you lot,but mothers day is mothers day !!!

A friend and I offered to marshall at Edale. We were put at Ringing Roger, checkpoint 1. I have NEVER witnessed such a GALE blowing in a race. We had all on to hang onto the rocks. It must have been in excess of 50mph, at least. We couldn't stand up.
As the runners were blown up the path, they must have wondered why they hadn't stayed at home. All credit goes to anyone who has stayed the course or even part of it.
Feel very guilty being at home in the warmth.
It's now 2:46pm, 4hrs 15m into the race and I bet there are quite a few still struggling!
    Well done lads and lasses.

I went up to Jacob's Ladder with my daughter & watched the first 3 go through - Simon Bailey, Lloyd & Rob Jebb. I think Lloyd then overtook Si before Noe Stool. Had to come back down to Hayfield then as Emma was freezing - poor soul (she's only 7!) Sorry to the rest of the runners - I'd carried 6 litres of energy drink / warm squash up there - but we couldn't really hang around any longer.

Hope everyone got round safely. I believe quite a few of the early runners gave up at Jacob's Ladder after we'd left. It sounds like the ones with the most clothes on were doing the best, not surprisingly.

Parked at Mam Nick car park and ran up Mam tor and over towards Lose Hill. I agree - the conditions were quite simply atrocious. You had to run at a 45 degree angle into the wind to have a chance of staying on your feet. The hail was agonising as the runners were straight into it.

I saw Simon Bailey leading, then Lloyd Taggart - then I think it was another runner then Robb Jebb. Everyone seemed to be struggling. Quite a few in shorts!!! DazH didnt look in too much trouble - even refused my offer of a drink

Saw Natalie White leading the ladies but I think, and I am not sure about this, she pulled out. I was in the Edale centre and I saw Natalie way before she was expected. If this is wrong then I apologise

A lot indeed pulled out. One friend of mine who pulled out at Mam Nick was getting towards Hypothermic - warmed him up with some hot tea. Another guy was a little delirious and badly in need of warming up.

Lots of people in the Edale centre who have never pulled out did this time. It was very very bad up there. They all made the right decision

Anyone who ran in those conditions today is a seriously tough Guy / Gal. Well done and respect to you all

Ran to support the race, up Jacobs ladder and then back down Brown Knoll and Ruship Edge. Found it very difficult running up towards Jacobs Ladder with the wind and snow on my face although it must have been much worse for those in the race who had it in their faces over Brown Knoll. Saw some very cold people - just hope they all got back safely.

Well done to all those who took part.

Well they completely demolished mine today. Jacked it in at Jacob's Ladder, having been reduced to walking for a long time by then and was just cramping up with every jolt. Decided to bale out before I became a proper casualty.

Tottered down Jacob's Ladder and there was a MR landrover at the bottom who offered me a lift back to Edale, which I didn't refuse. Waiting in the landrover for other casualties to come down it was interesting to hear the MR boys talking on their radios. "We've got 4 casualties her and 2 there - oh and another one has just come in" and so on. The driver of my vehicle said he hadn't been home since 6 am the previous morning. I didn't dare ask him what he thought of us lot doing a race under today's conditions.

Well done to everyone who got round. That was nasty, very nasty.

lloyd did win according to some bloke at the end.

Have to say the weather was absolutelly awful, defo the worst conditions i've ever raced in - so huge thanks to the marshals and the organisers who had to stand out in it all day - a nice warm bath for me now!
